2023 A Deep Dive into the year that has been.“We recently passed 1,000,000 downloads. A goal that I set myself way back in 2017. But I didn't feel like celebrating or sharing this news. Why?”For regular listeners of the show, you will have heard me explain time and time again, how thankful I am for this podcast. It has given me so much in terms of knowledge and experience, that I am so thankful for it's existence. The goal that I set was a throwaway one that I set a long time ago. I never thought that the podcast would become as popular as it has become, so when it started to look like the goal was possible, it helped shape my life. So when I was edging closer to the goal earlier this year, I weighed up whether I would talk about it and share (overshare!) about it. I decided not to talk about it. Why? Well, I feel it would not have been fitting to talk about human-centeredness when the world is in such a difficult place for many. The war in Ukraine, the awful human atrocities that continue to unfold in Palestine, and the increased homelessness all over the world, the reality of climate change etc all really made me stand in my tracks. This is why you haven't heard so much from me over the last 6-months on this newsless. It actually hurts to look at the news, and that feeling of powerlessness is what is causing me to rethink everything. But I believe it is now more important than ever to stand up and talk about these issues.
